The White House Press Corps is buzzing on twitter tonight. Barack Obama is at the Nationals game tonight as they face his beloved Chicago White Sox.

Hats off to Mike Memoli, he was the first one I saw ask a week or so if Obama was going to make a trip to this Nationals game tonight. It is the perfect night for him to show up at the ballpark. Not only is his favorite team in town, it is also "Strasmas." If you don't follow baseball "Strasmas" is the name given to each start made by the young star Stephen Strasburg who has taken the baseball world by storm.

Anyone know whether this is the first time his family has accompanied him to a sporting event since he became President? Obama's love for sports is well documented. Now I know that a certain segment of the population will be up in arms over Obama enjoying himself while the Oil Spill is going on but those are the same people who will complain about anything and everything this man does. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if they complain about the amount of oxygen he takes in on an average day!

By the way, how lucky is Sam Youngman of "The Hill"? He was the pool reporter for Obama's opening day trip to Nationals Park as well. One of the great perks of the job.

Im glad he's there to see our beloved Strasburg. I cant wait to see him pitch in person for myself!

I mean, its a warm Friday night. There is nothing he can personally be doing about the oil spill right this moment, so he may as well take in a nice baseball game like the rest of America. He caused a bit of a stink because SS held everyone off the 200 level while he got settled and some fans missed Strassy's first pitch of the night (which was a fastball down the middle BTW), but everything seems to have calmed down now.

However, Im hoping he made a trip out there to see a loss tonight. Strasburg has 9Ks thru 5. We just need a run to tie or 2 to take the lead and he can take care of the rest! Let's go Nats!!

Oh I definitely agree with you. Being President doesn't mean you can't go to games. It is just unfortunate that half the country chooses to be idiots about it. They had know problem when their guy set Presidential records for time spent on vacation but they love to criticize Obama for the occasional ballgame or restaurant trip.

President Obama enjoying "America's Pasttime" proves he's a communist.
