The moment a large chunk of NBA fans were dreading has arrived. Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh are playing in the NBA Finals in their very first season together.

LeBron James became public enemy #1 in the eyes of many in the aftermath of "The Decision" but as I said it then I find that stance from people quiet funny. I said back in July that I had no problems with LeBron leaving for Miami and remains true to this date. Unlike most I always wasn't rooting against them in the playoffs. What do you think of his decision to leave Cleveland now? Is it the same as it was back in July?

By the way how much crazier does Dan Gilbert's rant sound now? Unless you count University of Virginia's lacrosse title the Cavaliers will not win a championship before the Heat.

I actually wouldn't have had a problem with any of the conference finalists from this year winning the NBA Championship. I don't know if I am cheering for the Mavericks or the Heat because I honestly wouldn't have a problem with either of the two winning. A Miami win would be fun because of uproar it will cause from hypocritical NBA fans. I call them hypocrites because very few of them would have had a problem with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh signing with their teams. Now I'm supposed to buy into their arguments for hating these guys? I have encountered plenty of Knicks fans here in the NJ/NY area who have knocked LeBron for his decision to sign with Miami but I can guarantee not one of them would be saying a thing. It becomes even more laughable when many of those same Knicks fans are fans of the New York Yankees who's entire business model revolves around signing the big free agents from around the league! I'm not trying to make this into a New York thing at all. Most of the people knocking LeBron happen to be Kobe Bryant fans. Yet again though they don't see the hypocrisy in their views. For whatever reason they have chosen to forget that Kobe basically forced his way to the Lakers after being drafted by the Charlotte Hornets. LeBron James honored his contract and took the franchise to heights it had never before seen.

Dirk Nowitzki has been one of my favorite players in the league for quiet some time. I definitely would like to see him win a championship and that is why part of me leans towards the Mavericks this year. The three guys in Miami will have plenty of chances to win a title, this could very well be the last time Nowitzki has a shot. Plus, how cool would it be to see David Stern hand the trophy to Mark Cuban? I couldn't care less about Jason Kidd though. I get that he's a future Hall of Famer and generally well liked player but that doesn't change that he is an idiot.

Have you heard about the "Cavs for Mavs" fan group?

Lebron's a great player, D-Wade's a great player. Teams stack up in every sport. Look at the Yankees in baseball and Barca and Real Madrid in European soccer. Getting several big stars on the same team is nothing new

Yea, this "collusion" never felt right though

They fulfilled their contracts though. It wasn't like he sat out and demanded a trade.

There's a flip side...Bosh and James were accused of 'checking out'.

James was accused of having dogged it in the final playoff game between the Celtics and the Cavs. I believe he was simply intimidated and failed to step up, but yes, there was a drop in intensity for whatever reason.

During the end of the last regular season with the Raps, an injured Bosh was cleared to play but chose to sit out a few games more during the end run. Not a fan of rushing players into action, but it seemed neither was he...

These could be simply smears by their former GMs to rationalize their departures and their own failures. Or maybe there was substance to it...we'll never really know (like how I did that CNN thing at the end?!).

Regardless, like you, Hyder, I don't hold that grudge against their team. You're right, there are multiple levels of hypocrisies playing here by all parties, though The Decision was one of the most retarded PR exercises ever but rewarding for all sort of parodies!

They're great talents. It does seem every little thing they do gets blown out of proportion.

The way Jason Terry mentioned their 'celebrating' was one such thing. It was brilliant how he used it as motivation, but then on the other hand its ridiculous that Wade had to defend chest-bumps to the media when every other team shows the same level of immaturity once in a while.

I slightly favor Nowitzki and the Mavs. But I don't mind if the Heat win and am enjoying their play. Hope it goes all the way to a Game 7.

The reason I don't like Lebron (and Bosh) is the attitude he brings that everything will come to him and he deserves this. Wade has a championship already and is able to talk like that. He dominated the Mavs already with a lot of miles on the "Diesel". This could be bad for the league because now you will see a bunch of this happening which will kill the smaller markets just as a couple were starting to come up (Oklahoma City and Memphis). I could see him going through "The Decision" if he already had a couple of rings and wanted to move on but he was annointed as King while still in high school. He has shown that he can be the best player on the court and single handedly beat a team, but he has also shown that he loses interest in late May and June and decides to start planning his summer before done with basketball.

I really want the Mavs to win because I believe that Dirk is a great player and the only reason he doesn't get the recognition is because he doesn't have a ring (kind of funny how one person gets all of it without a ring while another possibly just as good player doesn't get any).

Now that is just plain ridiculous. LeBron consistently took his teams to the playoffs when they had no right being there otherwise. Heck, he went to the NBA Finals with a team that shouldn't have been there.

I had no problem with "The Decision", it is the society we live in now. When top High School players commit to a college they do so on live TV on ESPNU and others. Why this outrage for LeBron?

sahyder, LeBron consistently made his team have the best record in the NBA but yet quit in the playoffs. I am actually surprised that he didn't demand a trade before his contract was up but I commend him for not. I do really want him to have a ring because I believe he deserves one but I want Dirk to have one more. Also I think if the Heat win, the NBA will collapse.

Jason Terry is being pretty hypocritical about the celebration. He celebrates every big play like he just won a championship.

Except Jason Terry's big plays come in the 4th quarter. Lebron is just standing there admiring the show when this happens.

LeBron still has a lot to prove. Scotty Pippen who am a fan of, made an ignorant statement calling James "the greatest player in the history of the game." IMO, he's not even the greatest player in the league right now. That title still belongs to Kobe Bryant love him or hate him. And he has a long way to go to live up to the legacy of Michael Jordan. Before Jordan there were other legendary players. Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. James has yet to come close or match the overall accomplishments of ANY of these great players. The "king" has yet to earn his crown.
